OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok fine!

The first polish from the Germany collection to be tried on is Nein! Nein Nein Ok fine! This is a dark grey cream with hint of green. Mostly it looks just grey though, the green is just there a little bit, like a small whispering voice. Or something.

I think it is beautiful. It feels peaceful to look at. Like harmony on my nails even though it is dark. But it is almost autumn now here in Sweden. Things are getting darker.

The formula was good. It was smooth to work with but because of some cuticle drag I needed three coats.

Germany collection from OPI

I was in Germany two months ago, waiting for a train for a couple of hours in Cologne. I had been on vacation in London, got really sick, ended up in hospital and was forbidden to fly home by the doctors. So I had to take the train. From London. To Sweden. That took 28 hours and a couple of them I spent on a train station in Germany watching a fotball game on teve in a pub eating ice cream. At that moment it felt a bit absurb.

I must say that the Germany collection from OPI is much more fun that my summer experience of Germany. Looking at the bottles I must say that I love this collection. The reds and orange look amazing, so vibrant. And the purple, Suzi and the 7 düsseldorfs looks great. I am so longing to wear a bit more vampy colors compared to some of all the pinks, neons and glitters I have been wearing this summer. The nude looking colors in the collection doesn't attract me as much though.

What do you think of this collection?

Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok fine!, Unfor-Greta-bly blue, Don't talk Bach to me.

Deutsch you want me baby?, Schnapps out of it, Suzi & the 7 düsseldorfs.

My very first knockwurst, Dont pretzel my buttons, Berlin there done that.

OPI Wooden shoe like to know?

I really should be painting my nails a bit more christmas like, but I can't resist all those spring polishes I have at home. It is like candy, I can't resist that either. So lets try Wooden shoe like to know? from OPIs spring collection Holland.

This is a rosy brown polish with pink and gold shimmer. The color is soft on the nails. The pink is more visable in the bottle than on the nail though. Then it becomes more brown and darker. The shimmer gives the color a depth which I like.
I don't like the color though. I know some of you will love this and I can understand that because this is a different brown. It is on another level. So do you like browns, make sure to get this!

The formula was great and two coats were enough for opacity.

OPI Red lights ahead...where?

Yesterday evening it started snowing here in my town for the first time this winter. At the same time I was sitting painting my nails with one of the new colors from OPIs spring collection Holland. Now Red lights ahead...where? is on my nails.

I went for this color because I wanted something strong and vibrant on my nails. And I am not disapointed, this coral red creme is strong and vibrant. But at the same time it is a bit boring. I like it a lot, but at the same time I am sitting here wondering if I could do something more fun with it. Still I think it is beautiful.

The formula was a bit tricky and it was hard to get an even result. I used three coats, but still it is a bit streaky. My coworkers (who check out my nails on a daily bases) might not notice it but I do.

OPI Dutch'ya just love OPI?

Okey, here we go. The first polish from OPIs spring collection Holland. I don't care that it is December and it is dark almost all the time and I still have more christmaslike polishes to try on, today I wanted a spring color. So, here is Dutch'ya just love OPI?

This is a warm purple shimmer polish. The purple is a medium bright color and then it is packed with gold shimmer that gives the color a depth. You can see the shimmer clearly on the nails, even though it might not be so visible on my photos, and I know it will look even better in the spring sun later.
I like this color, when I saw it on the press event the other day I felt at once that it was special. It is sophisticated but cool.

The formula was great and I had no trouble with it. Two coats were enough for opacity.

OPI Holland in my hands

I know. It is just December. In 24 days it is Christmas eve. But hey yesterday evening it was spring when OPI presented their coming springcollection Holland in a gardenhouse filled with tulips. Lovely!

The collection is filled with a lot of soft colors, both shimmers and cremes but there are also some bright colors like a almost neonlooking red, an orange and a bright pink.

Several of the colors looks great, colors I want to try now, but some looks a bit boring. This is a collection where everyone can find something to like I think.

To be seen on my nails soon...

Kiss me on the tulips, Red lights ahead...where?, A roll in the hague, Dutch'ya just love OPI?.

Vampsterdam, Wooden shoe like to know?, Gouda Gouda two shoes, Did you 'ear about van Gogh?.

Thanks a windmillion, I have a herring problem, I don't give a Rotterdam!, Pedal faster Suzi!

Some red glitter over silver

I wanted to do something fun and festive and bring some bling to a normal workday. So I painted my nails  with three layers of the silver foil polish Shine from Orly and then did a three layer gradient with the red glitter Gettin' Miss Piggy with it over it. Of course I started with a base coat and finished with a top coat.

So eight layers all to all to create this. I know a lot of layers but I was home alone, my son was sleeping and I was relaxing in front of the teve, so I had the time.

I like the result, it even turned out better then I thought it would. The silver hexagons in Gettin' Miss Piggy with it works really good against the silver foil and lights up the red glitter. And it feels festive.

What do you think?

OPI Are we there yet?

I am almost through OPIs Touring America collection. Just two left I think, one is Are we there yet? that I am showing you today.

Are we there yet? (I love the tname by the way, how many times doesn't my son ask that when we go on any kind of roadtrips) is a orangetoned peach with a subtle gold shimmer. The shimmer is not so visible on the nail but gives the color a depth. This color definetely feels like summer. It is nice but not something I am falling for.

It was also a bit hard to get an even result, the formula is thin and it is streaky on the nail even after three layers.

OPI Suzi takes the wheel

Hmm. I have a little problem deciding what kind of color Suzi takes the wheel from OPIs fall collection Touring America really is. Is it a light, light green (kind of an avocado gone bad) or a smudgy grey? It is different depending on the light, sometimes it is more green, sometimes it is more grey.

But I like it. It is a cool color. Sophisticated on its own, but fun to maybe layer and do a gradient with some glitter on.

It is darker on the nail than in the bottle, as you can see.

The formula though was a bit thin and runny. I had some trouble controlling it and it was a little streaky (not really visible on the photo, but I see it). Two coats was enough though to get full opacity.

OPI I eat mainely lobster

I eat mainely lobster is one of the more bright colors from OPIs fall collection Touring America. For me this is more of a summer color, I can see it looking good on my toes next summer. Now though, it is on my nails, and I do like it now too.

This is a shimmering coral toned polish. It has a subtle gold shimmer that gives the polish a depth. I like it. Not all coral tones works with my pale skin tone, but this does.

The formula though needed a bit of work. It is thin so I needed three coats, but that was also because I got a lot of cuticle drag, maybe you can see it in my photo. I don't like that, cuticle drag is a no-no.

OPI Gone gonzo!

Oops. I just discovered that I had one more polish to try from OPIs Muppets collection. How could I forget? So, lets try Gone Gonzo on.

Gone gonzo is a turqouise glitter in a clear base. It has small round turqoise glitters and bigger silver hexagon shaped glitters that ends up here and there on the nail.

This sure sparkles, but it is sheer. The most sheer from this collection I think. On the photo below I used four (!) coats and it is far from opaque. To build up this to opacity would take forever. This is definetely a polish that is best for layering.

Gone gonzo! layered over Depend 255. A great combination.

News from OPI

Yeah, I know. It is just November and you are shopping polishes from the fall- and winter collections. But lets look a little bit in to the future. Who can resist when OPI presents their news for next year?

In January it is time for their next celebrity collaboration, this time with Nicki Minaj. This collection has glitter, a shatter and bright colors. What do you think? I think all the colors look interesting, especially the glitters, will be fun to see them IRL.

And then, the spring collection, this time called Holland. And when you say Holland to me I think about tulips (although Sweden is the country buying most tulips in the world, we are nuts about tulips) and I think some of the colors in the spring collection gives me a tulip vibe. When I look at this pr-photo I fall for the purple and the blue. How about you?

OPI Spark de Triomphe and White shatter

It took me some time, but last weekend I got around to try  the Serena Glam slam with the polishes Spark de Triomphe and White shatter on my nails. But I am not jumping up and down for them.

Lets start with Spark de Triomphe. This is a champagne colored glitter, silver and gold glitter in two different sizes in a clear base. I like the color, although I am not such a big gold fan. But it sparkles and shines a lot, and that I really love.
It takes a lot of coats though to get it opaque, I gave up at four. And as you can see on the photos there is still a very visible nail line. But since I was covering this with White shatter I didn't mind.

So then on to White shatter. I am not a big shatter fan, it just never caught me, although I have tried it several times. And White shatter doesn't make me like it more.

White shatter is supposed to crackle on the nails. But it doesn't. Well, on some nails, but not on some. It just looks messy, like a sloppy manicure. And the white, it reminds me of tipex. Like I painted my nails with tipex (I tried that once as a kid, didn't look good). So, White shatter is not for me.

OPI Color to diner for

I still have polishes from OPIs fall collection Touring America to show you. Lucky it is still fall...

Well, on my nails: Color to diner for. A soft red with subtle goldshimmer and there is also a brown tone whick makes it a bit rusty. Very autumnlike. If you want red, but don't want to be to much up your face, this is a color for you. I think this color is nice, but I am not jumping up and down for it.

The formula was smooth, maybe a bit thin, but still two coats was enough to get it opaque.

My first candy mani

I have been reading about it, so I wanted to try it. A candy mani where you layer different polishes with a glitter in the middle and a jelly on top. So I did.

I choosed two berry toned polishes and one pink glitter. First I took one layer of the creme polish Manicurist of Seville from OPI, then one layer of the glitter polish Teenage dream from OPI as well and then last a layer of the jelly polish Do you think I am tex-y? from OPI.

The jelly seals the deal but still you see the glitter, like floating in there.

I like this. I like that it is sparkly, but not too sparkly. How about you? Have you tried this?

Don't forget that I am having a giveaway when I reach 200 followers! So come on, become a follower now.

OPI Rising star

It is chilly in Sweden now, this morning there was frost on the grass for the first time. So it is really fall now. So how about a polish that looks like the leafs now? Rising star from OPIs Burlesque collection that came out last year.

This is a rich copper foil that shimmers a lot. This is not the color I normally fall for, but it is beautiful. No doubt about that.

The application was easy and I used three layers for full opacity.

Oh my holo!

I played with my nails a little bit yesterday. First I painted them with the silver holo Greta from Make up store. I love that polish. But then I wanted to ad a little more sparkle, make them really blingy. So on Greta I added three layers of  Disco ball  sparkle from OPI, it has a clear base and then small silver glitter and bigger hex holo glitter.

I love the result, it looks a bit icy.

So what am I doing with these party nails today? First work, then I am having dinner with my wonderful man and all the children, then we are hitting the sauna. Great for the cuticles! Haha.

OPI Divine swine

It is Thursday, why not pretend it is Saturday and party and take a look at some glitter? I have Divine swine from OPIs collection The Muppets to show you.

This is a bright purple glitter. The base is clear and then there is lots of small purple glitter and some bigger hexagon silver glitters. So it is like the green Fresh frog of Bel air that I showed you last week, but purple.
Wearing this I start wishing though that OPI could have done some more variation with the glitter in this collection, not build them the same way and only change color. Okey, I know there are some variation, but still...

Anyway, this is a beautiful purple, I like the brightnes, but it do need four layers to build up some kind of opacity. I also tried layering it, then I first used two layers of Plugged-in-plum from OPI and over that I used two layers of Divine Swine. So a total of four layers anyway, but the result looks better when you layer it I think.

The formula was good and I had no problem with it.

Divine swine layered over Plugged-in-plum.

I brake for manicures with some Glow up already!

I did this some time ago. Put some Glow up already from last years Burlesque collection from OPI over I brake for manicures from OPIs Touring America, as a kind of a french manicure.

What do you think?

OPI Wocka wocka!

Like the roses in my garden. That is the color of the polish I am wearing. Red. Bloodred. And it so beautiful.
The polish I am wearing is Wocka Wocka! from OPI The Muppets collection.

When I first saw the promo photos of this polish I thought it was a creme polish. But it is not, this polish has a metallic shine that gives it a fantastic lustre. And I think it is so beautiful. Okey, maybe now you say that this is just another red, but it is not. This is amazing, I love it.

The fomula is really good, easy to paint with and I get it opaque with just two layers.
