Kicks Evening at Chateau Marmont

Lets be honest. I bought Evening at Chateau Marmont from Swedish make up brand Kicks because it looks like a dupe to Chanels Peridot. I can't say if it is a dupe or not, I don't have Peridot to compare with. From pictures I have seen it is similar, but not an exact dupe. But I still like it.

Evening at Chateau Marmont (love the name by the way) is a duchrome that shifts from gold to green. I think it looks so cool on the nails and makes me forget that I don't really like gold. But I love duochromes.

The formula is a bit sheer, but four coats is enough for me. I still have some VNL then, but it is okey, it doesn't matter.
One of my lovely readers asked my to try this over a nude as well becasue of it beeing sheer, so I have done that. I tried two coats over Brooch the subject from Essie. The two colors works good together, even if Evening at Chateau Marmont isn't as strong when layered. I don't think though you gain anything with layering Evening at Chateau Marmont. It works well on its own.

I wanted it...

Peridot from Chanel did caught my attention. But not enough to make me wanna spend all that money on it. Besides, I don't usually like gold.
But, the Swedish make up brand Kicks Make up has in there Christmas collection a polish that looks a lot like Peridot. It is called Evening at chateau Marmont. And for a lot less money. So I bought it.

To be seen on my nails soon...

Kicks Metro grey

Half way through testing the Muppets collection I needed to take a break from glitter and glamour and try something more subtle on. So I ended up with a grey creme on my nails. It is Metro grey from Kicks make up, a new Swedish make up brand launched by the beauty store Kicks.

Metro grey is an ordinary steel grey creme. Nothing more exciting. It is subtle and sophiticated though, and that could work. This is no problem wearing to work or some formal event. Can look good with grey jeans and a tee as well.

The fomula was a bit streaky and thin. I needed thre layers to get opacity and I had to work with it to get it smooth and good looking.

Kicks Make up Studio 54

Studio 54 is a perfect name for the gold perl polish from the new make up brand from Kicks. It is gold, it is party, it is glamour. And I say this without even liking gold, it doesn't go with my skintone. But I can see the qualities in this polish anyway.

This is the first polish I try from Kicks. It comes in small bottles (8 ml) and are quite cheap (39 Swedish kronor). The formula is quite good, but you do need three coats to get an even result and there are some visible brush strokes. But it is okey. The brush is a bit short and stiff.

Kicks launches their own make up brand

Yesterday I was to a pressevent in Stockholm where the beauty chain Kicks presented a new make up brand that they are launching. And first out on the market are nailpolishes. Of course I was curious. A new nailpolish, that is like Christmas!

The nailpolishes will be in store week 36 and cost 39 swedish kronor for a bottle of 8 ml and will be available in 40 different colors. Good price I think, even though the bottles are small.
Left to see is how they work on the nail. I got six different shades to try so it will be interesting. I am most keen on the jeansblue Fab Jean and the grey Metro grey.
