Illamasqua Eclipse

Sometimes it is easy. Browsing through the beauty department at Selfridges in London in December, a glimps at Illamasqua, and yes, just that one, I want it. Nothing to think about there.

Eclipse from Illamasqua is one of three vinners in Illamasquas Nail varnish competition. And I just love it. Apperently Dami Lawai who created the color was inspired by a lunareclipse. To me the color is a blueberry blue, like the dark blueberries you find in the Swedish forrest. It is a metallic purple and blue with a hint of silver. Very cool.

The formula is excellent. It so smooth to paint with and two layers does the job.

Let me just say mmm....

Nail polish shopping in London

When in London, of course I had to take the chance to buy some polishes you don´t find so easy here in Sweden. Or not at all. I didn´t have much time to go shopping though, but thanks to finding a late night open Boots by Piccadilly circus and a quick visit to Selfridge's I came home with four polishes.

Nailgirls Pink no 12. This is a pink glitter with a lot of silver in it that I think will end up as a foil on the nail. I found this at Selfridge's, they just got the brand the day before so they couldn't tell me so much about it except that it is from New York.

Pixi no 15. Pixi is actually a make up brand made by some Swedish sisters living in London. We don't have the brand here in Sweden though so I buy it when I get the chance in London. This polish is a neon purple, although it looks a lot more pink on the photo than it is.

Illamasqua Eclipse. This is one of the winners from Illamasquas contest where you could have your dream color made. It is a mix between purple and blue. Very beautiful.

Nars Purple rain. This is one of Nars top sellers, a purple metallic with some pink in it. Very nice. It was love at first sight so I hope it turns out as good on the nail.

Well, that's all. I saw at least ten more polishes but I didn't have the time to decide. Now I just bought the ones that my heart fell for at once.

Illamasqua Scarab

Det finns några nagellacksnyanser som ligger mig extra varmt om hjärtat. Som lila. Jag faller alltid för lila lack. Men också rött. Röda naglar kan liksom aldrig bli fel.
Så att jag köpte Illamasquas Scarab var inte så konsigt, det har en rubinröd nyans som jag faktiskt inte har.

Men det är rödare i flaskan än vad det blir på nageln. Det finns en svart bas i lacket som syns tydligt vilket gör att det drar åt mer dramatiska hållet, ibland blir det också lite kopparbrunt. Det har också ett guldskimmer i sig som ger en metalliclook. Snyggt!

Formulan är bra, ett lager täcker nästan men jag tar två. Dock tar penseln upp väldigt mycket lack vilket gör att det börjar rinna och kan hamna fel.

Det här målar gärna med igen.

Klick, klick, klick...

Jag har klickat hem ännu ett lack: Illamasquas Scarab. Jag beställde det på en söndag från England och tre dagar senare får jag hem det på posten. Smidigt.
Dessutom blev jag så himla förtjust i hur det har förpackats. Fint!
Nu ska jag bara testa lacket också. Har aldrig använt Illamasqua förut så det ska bli intressant.
